Apple to start making iPhone SE at Bengaluru from April, expected to be cheaper

After several talks on setting up Apple’s manufacturing unit in India, the Cupertino giant has finally made an official announcement on setting up its unit in Bengaluru for manufacturing iPhones




After several talks on setting up Apple's manufacturing unit in India, the Cupertino giant has finally made an official announcement on setting up its unit in Bengaluru for manufacturing iPhones. The new manufacturing unit is said to make lower-priced iPhone SE variants from April 2017.

According to latest updates, Apple will initially assemble iPhones in India and later on start manufacturing it solely at the Bengaluru plant. Apple requested the central government to provide tax rebate, slash transportation cost, and import duties, so that iPhones in India can be available at a cheaper rate. Lower price of iPhones will eventually lead to more sales in the Indian market.

Manufacturing of iPhones in India will benefit India in several ways. It will make the device economical, lead to an increased sale, bring in more profit to India, and create more jobs in the country.
