Online organic super store sells everything from baby chow to banana karpooram
If you thought organic farming was just a fad of people with too much time on their hands and too much money in their banks, think again. Dhanyam, an online organic food store works with organic farmers in Tamil Nadu (from Kodaikanal) to grow a variety of crops organically without using chemical fertilisers or pesticides.

Crop rotation, living soil (with ponds and an eco-system of small organisms like earthworms that exist in the soil), companion planting, and rural enterprise with the ultimate aim of protecting the environment, form the other key aspects of organic farming.
Started by IIM Ahemdabad graduate Madhusoodhanan Kannan in July 2010, Dhanayam offers a variety of organic products besides vegetables, fruits and spices.
One look at the 'Our products' tab and you'll see a wide ranging list with everything from handmade soap to amla candy and mixed millet diet biscuits.

Kannan sources these products from a wide range of small scale and cottage industries located in different states.
Like any super store, Dhanayam comes with an offers link as well, and since it's an online venture, you're invited to leave behind comments and feedback, that says Kannan, they're only too happy to address.
The offer link provides a discount coupon code for specific products that changes every fortnight. For now though, it can only be availed by walk-in customers.
While perishables such as vegetables, milk and cheese cannot be delivered to towns that are further than a night's journey from Chennai, Dhanyam sells everything else on its product list including the essential oils and the herbal medicines.
The minimum purchase order is Rs 500 and the transportation cost has to be borne by the customer, which Kannan is quick to assure, doesn't go beyond Rs 200.
