Ark Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition of artworks made on canvas, stained glass and other mediums

Artist Sangietta Rathi's paintings are done in various mediums ranging from canvas to stained glass, murals and on artefacts. Rathi started exhibiting her art at a very young age when she was in tenth standard. "I never thought that my hobby would become a profession. But appreciation from people made me eager to work and design and experiment more," she says.

Now Rathi is soon starting her own studio, Tao Art Studio which will display art in various mediums. Tao is the Chinese term which means path. "This means that we are on the right path of growth and our art has an eternal appeal," she states.

Rathi admitted that a lot of hard work and dedication was required to become a good artist and she teaches students who are interested in Commercial Art so that they also can explore different forms of painting.

Her previous exhibitions were in aid of schools for the visually and hearing impaired, mentally disabled children and, orphans. She is planning to spend the funds collected this year in the aid of orphans from the Society of Friends of Sassoon Hospital (SOFOSH).

On display will be approximately 250 paintings. "Every painting I make is special for me as I put my heart into it," she comments. u00a0We loved her paintings made on glass where she does not use brushes but does the colouring using fingers.

From November 2-4, 10 am to 8.30 pm
