Please suggest remedies for excessive sweating and body odour.

Colognes can also be added to bath water. Or, add it to a mug of water and use it as a last rinse. It has a cooling effect too. Bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) helps prevent body odour.

Make a paste of baking soda and water and apply on areas like under the arms. You can also add lemon juice to this paste. Leave on for ten minutes and wash off with water.u00a0

Or, mix a little baking soda with your talcum powder and apply under the arms, or on the feet. Add one teaspoon alum (phitkiri) to your bath water. Rose water can always be added generously to bath water. It is a natural coolant and also fragrant.

Add two drops of Tea Tree Oil to two tablespoons of water or rose water. Apply this under the arms with cotton wool. Ayurveda gives some dietary suggestions: Sip nimbu paani, sip ginger tea before and after meals. Sipping on warm water with your meal may also help. Avoid eating spicy foods. Eat smaller meals.

My hair smells good, but my scalp is oily, no matter what shampoo I use.
Your problem may be due to oily hair and scalp, as well as sweat secretions. Wash your hair frequently, using very little shampoo and rinsing well with water. Avoid creamy conditioners, if the scalp is oily. A hair rinse would be better.

After shampoo, add the juice of a lemon and one cup rose water to a mug of water and use it as a last rinse. If you wish to apply oil, heat olive oil and apply on the scalp using cotton wool and rubbing gently. Leave on overnight. Next morning, apply the juice of a lemon on the scalp and wash the hair after 15 minutes. Weekly henna treatments will also help.u00a0
