3Q Suchitra Indulkar Ventriloquist

1. What prompted you to apply for the Limca Book of Records?
Four years ago, I had attempted to put up 10-minute performances in 42 temples in Borivali East and West. Despite all efforts, which included travelling from one temple to another, I couldn't finish all of them. I could perform only at 28 temples. Besides, I didn't have any video recording to claim my feat. Some friends suggested that I try again at the record, but since travelling wouldn't be possible, I have decided to do it non-stop at one place. My aim is to put up as many performances as possible on a single day (this Sunday).

2. What's so appealing about creating a record?
Everybody in the performing industry, be it dancers or singers, have non-stop records, but no ventriloquist has ever tried to create a record like
this in India. Besides, there are many ventriloquists doing their own thing in Mumbai; I intend to do something entirely different.

3. You are a homemaker and a ventriloquist, how do you juggle the two? Where did you learn the art?
My father, Professor J Kumar, is a ventriloquist and magician. He taught me everything. I started when I was nine. But after I got married, managing my career and family was a big challenge. I always wanted to do something special, but after a point my family became my top priority. But when my friends suggested the idea, I felt determined to dou00a0it again. My friends and family are expecting a lot from me, and I don't want to disappoint them. I am a 34-year-old, and I know it's going to be difficult. But I have the will to do it, so, I will do it.

Indulkar will attempt for maximum performances in a day
