Chatting on mobiles while boarding trains and buses has emerged as the top reason behind mobile phone damage, according to a recent country wide study. Here’s how

Screen breakage within months of buying a phone was a major concern with more than 50% customers reporting screen breakage in the first eight months.

Other issues included speaker defects, microphone damage, camera, display problems, software issues and others fragmented across the remaining 63%.

Seems like women tend to break their phones more often than men. A new study, conducted by a repair platform, OnSiteGo, found 58% damages coming from women users, but at 42%, men aren't doing any better either

While technology advancements like gorilla glass and other screen protection methods such as tempered glass have reduced screen damages, it has emerged as the most vulnerable part in a smartphone with around 37% of repairs done by the company involving damaged screens. A related study found that 36% Indians continue to use their phone with a cracked screen despite cutting their fingers due to the high costs of repairing screens.
