Shu looks amazing. It consists of hand-drawn sprites and environment, which look straight out of an animated movie. In the game, the eponymous hero, Shu is a little bird, who has been given the task of saving the village from the end of the world.

The gamer makes this possible by outrunning a large, very beautifully stylised evil dark cloud that's consuming everything in its path. The idea is to overcome the obstacles and reach the ancient tower. While Shu is great at jumping and gliding, saving other villagers along the way grants you their power too. This is transferred by holding hands - yeah, this is heart-melting stuff.

The gameplay essentially involves you jumping around collecting stuff. It isn't very unique, but it isn't bad either. There is a Time Trial mode that lets you finish the levels as quickly as possible. It is also connected to an online leaderboard so that you can compare how you stack-up against other players.

The game consists of 15 levels and plays well on the PC. It it is a bit short but, content-wise, it feels complete. Definitely a must-have for platformer junkies.
