On the occasion of World Environment Day on Friday, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant urged people to protect and preserve the environment.
"Let us reaffirm our collective responsibility to protect and preserve our environment for future generations," he said in a message on X.
Every small step towards sustainability, conservation, and responsible living contributes to a greener and healthier planet, he added.
World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5 to raise awareness and encourage action for environmental protection.
Established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in 1973, it is the largest global platform for public outreach on environmental issues, celebrated by millions worldwide.
