'My girlfriend and I keep fighting'

20 April,2012 07:19 AM IST |   |  Dear Diana

Dear Diana, I am 23 and have been in a relationship for over a year. My girlfriend is my first love. Three months ago, I had broken up with her due to a silly issue but this break-up lasted only 16 days after we realised how much we love each other.

But I was mistaken as we keep fighting still. When I look at my friends and their girlfriends I see that I've got the worst relationship of all of them! They all seem so cool and composed whereas we are always on the verge of another fallout. Should I break up again and move on for real this time?

Dear Murtaza,
You need to clear your mind. You say you love her and can't live without her and at the same time keep on fighting with her! Both of you need to sit down and sort out your differences. There is no point hanging on to a relationship where there is constant friction and a fear of a breakdown. Pinpoint the cause of the turmoil in your relationship. Also, you can't be screaming at each other at the slightest of provocation. Also, you have only yourself to blame for what goes wrong in your relationship. You can make it or destroy it. So first set things right and then ponder whether you want to continue the relationship or not.
