Be aware of local traffic rules: Different countries have different driving rules. Obtain a copy of the rules regarding driving in the specific country you intend to visit. You can obtain this information from that country's government tourism office or overseas car rental agencies.

Buckle up: Most countries overseas are very strict about wearing a seat belt while driving. Don't spoil your drive or a holiday by trying to surpass this one.
