Take the ferry from south Mumbai
Who would've thought that you might need to escape the city to really find it? Hop on one of those bobbing, garishly lit ferries from the Gateway of India, and they'll take you into the middle of the sea from where you can see Mumbai in all its incandescent glory. Gape at the stately, monolithic arch of the Gateway, the impressive Taj Mahal and the panoramic view of the Apollo Pier and Colaba. We wouldn't be surprised if the undulating skyline, with thousands of illuminations, leaves you with an overwhelming feeling as you disembark.

The view from Aer

Go up in the Aer in central Mumbai

You might need to slip into your Jimmy Choos and carry a fat wallet if you wish to spend a nice evening at Aer, the city's highest rooftop bar, situated on the 34th floor of Four Seasons Hotel. Mull over the divide that bridges Bombay and Mumbai, as you see pockets of shanties interspersed with some of the tallest high-rises, against the backdrop of the Worli-Bandra Sea Link caressing the Arabian Sea. We suggest you reach by 6 pm, not just for the Happy Hours, but also to watch the sun dip into the sea as the city's neon lights
come alive.

Hike in north Mumbai

A hike at Borivli's Sanjay Gandhi National Park might mean bumping into gangs of noisy kids on a picnic. But we promise you won't find such species as you trek to View Point, considered Mumbai's highest point, at 490 meters above sea level. It might be taxing to reach the summit but once you have reached, it's a rewarding sight. You get a panoramic view of the city, including areas on theu00a0 park's fringes, as well as the Tulsi, Vihar and Powai Lakes.
