Ever wanted to pause, reset, and spend a few days creating art away from the rush of daily life? Pragya Mittal, co-founder of The Itchy Boots, a Bengaluru-based platform that organises curated women-only art residencies and retreats, is hosting just that. The Nagarhole Art Retreat is a three-day programme that combines guided art sessions with time spent outdoors in a quieter setting away from the city.

Organised in Nagarhole, the retreat follows a deliberately relaxed schedule, encouraging participants to paint, journal, sketch, take walks, or simply rest between activities.
"The retreat is not designed like a strict art camp where people have to keep producing work all the time," emphasises Mittal. "We wanted the retreat to feel comfortable for both beginners and experienced artists. Some people may spend hours painting, while others may just want to sit quietly, journal, or walk around the property. The idea is to create an environment where people can step away from routines and spend time doing things more slowly."

By the end of the retreat, participants will have spent time oil painting, journalling, sketching, bird watching, and joining nature walks and evening bonfires at their own pace. Along with their paintings, they will also take home sketchbooks filled with art they created during the retreat.
