Father murders son, cuts body into pieces to marry daughter-in-law

Faridkot: A 62-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for killing his son over an alleged affair with his daughter-in-law. Police said that the man also wanted to marry his daughter in law after killing his son.

According to Hindustan Times, the accused, identified as Chhota Singh, a resident of Dabri Khana village, was having illicit affair with his 40-year-old son Rajwinder Singh's wife, Jasvir Kaur. Chhota Singh on Tuesday night, killed Rajwinder with a sharp weapon and cut the latter's body into pieces and packed it in plastic bags. In order to get rid of the body, he threw it in the sewage. Chhota Singh's murder motive was to marry Jasvir Kaur, but his plan went haywire, when his nephew, Gurucharan Singh woke up in the middle of the night and noticed blood stains in the house. He immediately alerted the police and the murderer was nabbed.

The kin of the accused revealed that Rajwinder Singh had been married to his wife for 12 years and the couple have two children. It was Chhota Singh's illicit affair with his daughter-in-law that had created a rift between the father and the son which led to the tragic incident.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh Sohi, who is investigating the murder case, said that the accused has been arrested under Sections 302 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the remains of the victim will be handed over to his family after the post-mortem is conducted.
