African national held with Cocaine and Mephedrone worth lakhs in Mumbai

An 18-year-old African national has been arrested by Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) with Cocaine and Mephedrone (MD) drugs worth Rs 2.20lakhs


An 18-year-old African national has been arrested by Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) with Cocaine and Mephedrone (MD) drugs worth Rs 2.20lakhs. Police claims that the arrest accused is an important member of a ring in Mumbai's drug peddlers circle which supply high and pure quality of Cocaine and MD.According to the police, the Bandra unit of ANC recently received reliable information on a Nigerian national who is into drug peddling. Accordingly a trap was laid near Vakola Church Bus stop in Santacruz (East) and the suspect was arrested.

He was later identified as Ikoni Ihoma Levi, 22 residing in Kolavari Villege, Kalina, Santacruz (E). 20 gram high quality Cocaine and 54 grams of MD total worth Rs 2lakhs were recovered from his possession. "Levi is suspected to be a member of a group that provides high quality Cocaine to many peddler in Mumbai. We are examining his phone call details," said an ANC officer. Levi has been charged with relevant sections of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. On Saturday the accused has been sent in police custody by a local court.
