The Santacruz police have arrested two garment traders for allegedly snatching a gold chain from a woman in Santacruz West and attempting to flee the city by train. The accused were caught at Borivli railway station while boarding the Kutch Express to Bhuj. Police said the duo had suffered heavy business losses and committed the crime for the first time.

Location: Near Bagwe Garden, Santacruz West
Almeida was walking along the road when the two accused allegedly approached her from behind, pushed her, and forcibly snatched her 7-gram gold chain before fleeing on a motorcycle.
She later approached the Santacruz police station and registered an FIR.

A police officer said, "The accused were escaping from Mumbai after the incident. When we reached their residence, we learnt they were heading to Bhuj. They had booked tickets on the Kutch Express. We nabbed them at Borivli station."
Police said both accused earlier ran a garment business but shut it down after incurring losses.
