Singer-turned-actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi is not ready to face the music for an offence that she claims she did not commit.
Rubbishing allegations by the labour ministry that she hired a minor maid, Suchitra stormed into State Labour Minister Nawab Malik's Mantralaya office yesterday.
Interestingly, she pointed out that a case was filed against her mother Sulochana for employing an underage girl in 2007.

CLEAN CHIT? Suchitra Krishnamoorthi at state Labour Minister Nawab Malik's office at Mantralaya yesterday. |
"The case was a ploy. My mother had given shelter to a minor girl on the request of another maidservant.
But due to some differences the maid later filed a complaint against her," Suchitra told mediapersons.
Malik lost face when he gave Suchitra a clean chit.

It was on the basis of information provided by NGOs that they had rescued children from the houses of actors Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Laxmi and yesteryear heroine Huma Khan.
"I was provided wrong information by the NGO and I mentioned that a case was registered against Suchitra," said Malik.
Though an office bearer from the NGO maintained that a case was registered against Sulochana, he failed to provide sufficient evidence to substantiate his claim.
"The charges were later dropped. The minor girl, who was found at Suchitra's parents' home, was sent back to her hometown in Orissa," he said.
The officer bearer also said that since the NGO had lost the FIR copies and case papers, they could not provide details on the two-year-old case.
