The Tardeo police has registered a case against Mahesh Kamath (35) for having unnatural sex with a dog, but his friend insists that he has been framed.
"I do not believe Kamath can indulge in such an act. It is utter nonsense," said Sushil Sharma (name changed), Kamath's family friend, who did not wished to be named.
In tears
"I met Kamath yesterday, while he was in custody and he was in tears. He kept saying he was innocent and had returned home from work drunk and had parked his taxi when he saw the dog.
He wanted to feed him a biscuit and that's when Rajeshwary Khanna, the complainant saw him and shouted saying he was forcing himself on the dog," said Sharma.
Kamath has been staying in Mumbai for over 15 years,driving a taxi.
Family unaware
Sharma said Kamath had a family and had no previous crime record. "He has a three-year-old daughter and a wife who stay in Bihar with his parents. Why would he do this?" asked Sharma.
He also said that Kamath's family is not yet aware of the incident. "What will I tell them? What will I say he has been arrested for?" he added.
