2,816 applicants get a MHADA home in Mumbai

Prominent winners included Joint Chief Officer of the housing society, D K Jagdale, who won a flat second time in a row


The Chief Officer of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), N K Sudhanshu has been applying to win a flat in the lottery for several years now, but has been unable to win. However, fate has been kind to his subordinate, D K Jagdale, who has won a MHADA flat twice in a row.

mid-day spoke to D K Jagdale, joint chief officer of MHADA, "This is the second time I have won. I have been lucky to win a 2BHK flat in Dahisar. I will probably move in to the newly won flat and not the 1BHK that I won last year, as per my family's requirement."

The event was organised by MHADA officials on Wednesday, to announce and felicitate the winners. The lottery fulfilled the dream of owning a flat for 2,816 participants. Winners included not just MHADA officials, but also citizens who dream of owning a house in the island city.
