A 35-year-old man drowned after falling into a water tank of a residential building at Royal Palm Complex, Film City Road, Goregaon. His body was recovered on Friday

A 35-year-old man drowned after falling into a water tank of a residential building at Royal Palm Complex, Film City Road, Goregaon. His body was recovered on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Shivshankar Gangurde, who worked as a plumber. The incident occurred on Thursday when Gangurde had gone to turn on the water supply to the tank. "The water tank is situated in the basement of the building. He was checking the water level, when suddenly he lost balance and fell," said a police officer from Aarey police station.

Gangurde had been reported missing since Thursday, and it was on Friday, that his body was discovered by his colleagues while they were inspecting the tanks, the official further added. The body was sent for autopsy to Goregaon's Siddharth Municipal General Hospital, and later handed over to his relatives to perform the last rites. The Aarey police have registered an accidental death report.
