The Thane Municipal Corporation raided and sealed 5 operating bars as the staff and visitors were found flouting the COVID-19 safety norms.
Among the 5, 2 were orchestra bars in Naupada and Kapurbawdi. Two separate teams were formed to raid bars in the city as per officials.
The teams recorded the situation in the bars were the staff and visitors were seen flouting social distancing guidelines and also roaming around without masks, reports Times of India.

In keeping with the civic chief's orders, the establishments were immediately sealed and cases could be registered on the owners.
Meanwhile, Naupada has witnessed highest number of COVID-19 violations with Rs 43,000 being collected as penalty from violators.
