An American national was arrested at city airport here after live cartridges were found in his luggage, police said on Saturday.
Henry Hen was held Friday night when he was boarding a flight to the US and seven live cartridges of .22 bore were recovered from his luggage, a senior police official from Sahar police station said.
"We have registered a case under the Arms Act", he said adding the US national, who is a businessman dealing in electronic goods, told the police that he was carrying the cartridges by mistake.
"Hen said he had an arms licence at his hometown in Texas and we are verifying the circumstances under which he was carrying the cartridges," the police official said.
Hen came to the country last month and was residing in Andhra Pradesh. He will be produced in a court today, the official added.
