Katrina Kaif and Madhuri Dixit's lips are a hot favourite for those wanting lip enhancements.
The lips of the smiling sensation of the '90s Madhuri Dixit and current diva Katrina Kaif are in demand. According to the cosmetics surgeons from the city, struggling stars, models and women from all strata now want a pout like their favourite star and lip procedures are becoming common.
Dr Vijay Sharma, celebrity cosmetic surgeon, has performed nearly 200 operations and received enquiries for several more. "Only last weekend, I performed on a rising newcomer. The camera catches even the finest beauty and the lips are the most sensuous part of the face. The demand for lip enhancement has increased by hundred fold in the past year," he said.
But why Madhuri and Katrina? The doctor explains, "Madhuri's smile was a super hit, so everyone wants it and Katrina's lips are the most sensuous of the current lot. Most film actresses and models undergo the surgery, so they can pout like Angelina Jolie."u00a0
Mohona Sarkar, the model on whom Sharma performed the surgery in Lonavala over the weekend, said, "Who doesn't want to have good features and a beautiful face? Everyone undergoes such surgeries to look more beautiful." Mohona is currently recuperating.
Even other doctors claim the same. Dr Rashmi Shetty, city cosmetic surgeon, agrees that there is certainly a rise in the awareness related to lip enhancement. However, she added, Kaif's pucker is more popular than Dixit's. "Yes, people do come up with demands that they want to have lips similar to those of actresses. But then it is the doctor's decision as Katrina's lips wouldn't look good on everyone," said Shetty.
A lip enhancement can cost anything between Rs 12-24,000 and has to be repeated within a span of three to six months. Sometime, the surgeries could go absolutely wrong and the fillers such as body fat could expand, thus making the lips look ugly.
