Rawale, a sitting Member of Parliament from the South Central constituency, will contest from South Mumbai this time

Shiv Sena's Mohan Rawale will file his nomination papers today afternoon at the Old Custom House, Fort.

Rawale, a sitting Member of Parliament from the South Central constituency, will contest from South Mumbai this time. A majority of his earlier constituency is now part of the Mumbai South constituency because of the delimitation.

Rawale's opponents include Milind Deora from the Congress, Mohammed Ali from the BSP, Dr Mona Shah from the PPI, Meera Sanyal as an independent candidate and in all likelihood, Farhan Azmi from the SP.

Before the seat-sharing pact between the Shiv Sena and the BJP, Poonam Mahajan was vying for this seat. She had also put hoardings across the constituency. However, the Sena decided to contest from the constituency because of the vast Marathi population in the area after the delimitation.u00a0
