The police said the foetus was found with its head stuck in the toilet; cops have registered an FIR and are going through hospital records to find the mother
A premature baby was found dead inside a public toilet in Goregaon on Sunday. An FIR was registered against an unidentified woman.
The foetus, around 7 to 8 months old, was found with his head stuck inside the toilet at Santosh Nagar in Goregaon (E). The Fire Brigade had to prise the head free. The incident came to light when a woman went into the toilet and saw the baby.

She came out screaming and people gathered. They informed the cops and other authorities. After a panchnama of the spot and the statement of the eyewitness, Dindoshi Police sent the body to Shatabdi Hospital for post-mortem.
Dindoshi Police are gathering information about pregnant women in Santosh Nagar and nearby areas. It is suspected that the woman who abandoned the baby may be residing there. Police said they got records from private and civic hospitals, through which they will try to find her.
