A 20-year-old married woman was allegedly gang-raped by three local goons in Ulhasnagar on Friday evening.

The three accused have been identified as Vijay Kharat (23), Datta alias Bandya Kamble (20) and Sunil Pradhan (25). They were produced in court and have been remanded to police custody till May 13. The trio called the victim, who had come to a grocery store, on the pretext of some work after which they took her to an isolated location and raped her.

The victim confided in her mother. On Saturday, the case was registered and the three accused were picked up from their homes at 9 am.

The three men has been booked under Sections 376 (gangrape), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
