A man who drove to the city from Gujarat to pick up a relative arriving from abroad ended up in a car crash. While his Honda City car was badly damaged, the motorist escaped with minor bruises.

Just a kilometre from the airport, Mukesh S stopped the car to answer the phone call of the relative who was waiting at the airport. While he was speaking, a speeding car crashed into his car, causing it to crash into another car parked in front of it. Three cars were damaged in the accident.

Mukesh said, "I was on my way to the international airport to pick up a relative and I drove without mishap all the way from Gujarat. But, just as I was reaching the airport, my relative called to give me directions to where she was waiting and I had to stop my car to answer the call. I even halted away from the highway, yet the speeding car crashed into mine."

The driver of the speeding car told the police that he was going towards Bandra from Andheri when the incident happened. The third car damaged in the accident was a Meru cab and the driver said, "I was on night duty and was waiting at the highway for a pickup call. I suddenly felt a jerk to my car, which pushed it a metre away from the spot it was parked at. When I got out of my car I saw the Honda City car and an Maruti Etios behind it, which had crashed into the Honda City."

A police officer on patrolling duty at the Andheri Highway said, "All three cars have been damaged in the accident. The Honda City car has the worst damages of the three. Luckily, no one was injured in the accident. We have made a record of the incident."
