The same city and the same pin code were not enough to unite bank manager Neeraj Parashar (33) and HR professional Swechha Shukla in marriage.
They were destined to be man and wife through a television reality show. At present, they are enjoying their sponsored honeymoon in Ladakh.

Bhopal resident Parashar's episode first aired on STAR Vivaah on June 3.

"My brother, who is in Switzerland, managed to watch the episode online and we were immediately flooded with calls. And two weeks later, I was married!" said Parashar.

The Parashar family shortlisted about 100 candidates from the 1,500 calls they received. The Shukla family was one of the first ones they met.
Rishta"When Swechha's parents called, we decided to meet. Since I am a partial manglik, our horoscopes had to match. Coincidently, Swechha is also half manglik.
Once that was done, I met Swechha and her family. I spoke to her for 45 minutes and we decided to get married," said Parashar
.
They married on June 20 with over a 100 guests. "We are grateful to the channel and the show for providing me a platform to find my soulmate," said the excited groom, who flew down to Mumbai with his wife to thank the show's cast and crew before flying to Ladakh.

Anupama Mandloi, senior creative director, STAR Plus, said, "We are delighted at the show's progress. Neeraj and Swechha's successful match is an added feather to our cap.
We hope to bring happiness to many more." According to show officials, over 38,000 candidates have signed up for the show. The show has been running since May 13 and over 70 hopefuls have been on air already.
Show format Star Vivaah is a show in collaboration with a matrimonial website. It gives a chance to singles to find their ideal match. Singles come on the show and talk about themselves and give out contact details for interested families.
