After Jantar Mantar protest, CJP announces two-day strategy meet in Maharashtra from Wednesday

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Monday announced that its core team will hold a two-day strategy meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from Wednesday to discuss the future course of its youth movement.

The meeting will bring together CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, spokespersons, and organisational leaders to deliberate on the organisation's next steps following consultations with various stakeholders, including 50 core volunteers who were involved in the Jantar Mantar protest.

The organisation said that after the strategy meet, it plans to reach out to volunteers across the country and conduct a nationwide listening tour to understand the concerns and aspirations of the youth.

CJP said the move follows what it described as the success of its protest against former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, which it claimed resulted in his resignation.

"The defeat of this arrogant government at the hands of the youth shows that when young people come together, they can achieve anything," CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said.

"Our team is working to put together the best possible path forward to channel the expectations of our youth into meaningful action," he added.

‘No intention to form political party': Dipke outlines CJP's future roadmap

The organisation said further details about its next steps, including the schedule of the nationwide listening tour, will be announced in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Dipke ruled out any plans to transform the organisation into a political party, saying the focus would remain on building a public movement.

"We have no such intention. We are seeing how political parties are being split using the ED and CBI. Votes are being deleted in elections. At this point, when people have lost faith in politics, what will we do by forming a political party?" Dipke told ANI.

He said the country needed a public movement at a time when people were losing faith in institutions, including the judiciary, election system and media.

Dipke also alleged that outsiders had infiltrated the otherwise peaceful student protests at Jantar Mantar, which led to incidents of violence during the July 20 march to Parliament. He said the organisation remained committed to a non-violent public movement and would focus on engaging with young people across the country.
