After Kolkata, Air India's call centre office in Andheri (East) received a threat call on Monday night at around 10am. The caller threatened to either hijack or explode an aircraft of the national carrier. The caller however did not make a mention of any specific route.

The Mumbai Airport is already on high alert from Saturday, January 3 after the country was given five alerts. It should be noted that this isn't the first time that Air India has received threat calls. Just three months back, a threat call was received by Kolkata's Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), alerting Mumbai and Ahemdabad. Following this, a countrywide high alert was issued.

More threat calls were received recently by both Delhi and Kolkata airport. These calls mentioned they would target a Kabul-Delhi Air India flight.
