Prahar Janshakti Party president and former MLA Bachchu Kadu on Wednesday met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray at his residence, "Shivteerth," in Mumbai. The meeting focused on the deepening agrarian crisis and the urgent need to address the serious issues faced by farmers across the state.

"Today, former MLA Bachchu Kadu met Rajsaheb Thackeray at 'Shivteerth' in Mumbai to discuss the serious issues faced by farmers and held a detailed discussion," MNS said in a post on X.

Speaking to the news agency IANS after the meeting, Kadu said, "Not a single day passes without a farmer's suicide. And because of this, we want to meet leaders from all parties. Our effort is to strengthen this issue further. I believe we will get their support, and we will strongly raise our voice against farmer suicides."

According to reports, the discussion between Kadu and Thackeray was detailed and aimed at finding common ground to build political consensus across party lines on solutions to the ongoing crisis in the agricultural sector.

The meeting comes at a time when farmer distress remains a key issue in rural Maharashtra, particularly in the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions. Kadu has been actively seeking support from various political leaders to build momentum for a collective response to prevent further loss of life among the farming community.

Previous MVA govt's order mandating Marathi in schools not followed: MNS

Meanwhile, MNS leader Amit Thackeray on Tuesday claimed a government resolution issued under the previous MVA government, making Marathi compulsory in schools of all boards, is not being adhered to and demanded action against errant educational institutes.

"The decision by the then Uddhav Thackeray government to make learning Marathi mandatory in schools of all boards- CBSE, ICSE, IB and others- is being trampled upon," Amit stated in a letter addressed to Minister of State of the School Education Department Pankaj Bhoyar.

Amit, son of MNS chief Raj Thackeray, heads the students' wing of the MNS.

He demanded that the state education department demand a report on the implementation of the Marathi language GR (Government Resolution).

"Those schools that are avoiding teaching Marathi must face appropriate action, or their registration should be cancelled," he stated and demanded that the government ensure that all students in the state learn Marathi.
