Consumers may soon have to shell out more for fruits and vegetables as traders at the APMC market in Vashi fear a rise in transportation costs following the recent fuel price hike.
Traders and market officials said the impact is expected to be visible in the coming days, especially on perishable items transported from different parts of Maharashtra and neighbouring states.
