How to get a new phone connection

Procedure for registration:
1) The standard application form prescribed for new telephone connection can be obtained free of cost from any of the designated offices of the BSNL or MTNL or the Customer Service Centers located anywhere in the city. Photocopies of these forms as well as downloaded copies from the Internet are also acceptable.

2) The completed application along with the demand draft must be dropped in the office for registration.

3) After the submission of New Telephone Connection (NTC), a receipt will be handed over to you. After which the demand note for payment of applicable installation charges will be issued to you. On receipt of payment against demand note, the OB for installation of telephone connection will be issued immediately.

4) A bonafide verification for new connection/shift of telephone connection is done by the department before a new telephone connection is sanctioned or an existing phone is shifted to a new address.

Documents Required:
1) Address proof: Attested copy of any of the following- passport, latest paid telephone/gas/water/electricity/credit card/house tax bills receipt, allotment letter of accommodation issued by estate office of a government body, income-tax return, election card, driving license, rent receipt/rent lease agreement in Rs 10 of non judicial stamp paper declaring the address and profession of the applicant.

2) Documents required for proof of identity: Attested copy of any of the following: Passport, driving license, election card issued by election commission of India, PAN card. Any government document containing photograph, identity card issued by govt/semi govt/PSU/recognized institutions or self attested copy of above and present original document mentioned above for verification by the BSNL or MTNL Official at the booking counter.
