Ahead of Independence Day 2026, the Sion Police conducted a combing and search operation across the Sion police station area to strengthen security and prevent any untoward incident.
More than 100 police officers and personnel took part in the operation, during which suspicious vehicles parked along roads were checked and searches were carried out on people and vehicles considered suspicious.
The operation was conducted as part of heightened security arrangements ahead of Independence Day celebrations. Police officials carried out checks at various locations within the Sion police station jurisdiction.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Sion Division ACP Mahendra More and led by Sion Police Station Senior Police Inspector Sarita Tawde.
Police personnel conducted searches and checks as part of the special security drive.
Officials said such measures were being undertaken to prevent any untoward incident and maintain security during the Independence Day period.
