Passengers refused 50 per cent discount post midnight because airline had not upgraded system at airport counters
They came, they saw and they left disappointed. Although Jet promised a 50 per cent discount on fares of domestic flights (see promotional fares, above), many were denied discounts post midnight because the system at the airline's counter was not updated. And the airline's staff was aware of such a scheme.
False promises
Lokesh Tyagi, a businessman said, "I wanted to buy a ticket for a Mumbai-Chandigarh flight for September 16. I came to buy the ticket on learning of the 50 per cent discount.

Disappointed: Passengers who expected a 50 per cent discount on Jet air tickets were denied it. |
But I was told that the system was not updated and I had to go back empty-handed.
I don't understand why they should make false promises and cause problems to passengers after going on a strike." Tyagi did not buy the ticket.
Another passenger, businessman Abdul Sayyed bought a ticket for a 5.55 am Jaipur flight today without the discount. "I was not aware of the scheme and the Jet authorities did not inform me either."
The Jet staff said the system will be updated by morning. Jet spokesperson Srirupa Sen told MiD DAY, "There is a 50 per cent discount scheme for domestic passengers.
They can avail of the discount, but the tickets must be purchased before September 16."
Reena Joseph, duty manager at the airport for Jet Airways, said, "We will definitely offer a 50 per cent discount to our passengers. Tickets will be sold at a discounted rate from morning."
