Four-year-old Maanya Verma, a kindergarten student at Lokhandwala's Ashok Academy, has left her friends, family and the local cops stunned.
She led the police to a woman who stole her diamond earrings with a calm and confidence that is lacking even in adults.

On May 15, Maanya was in the playground in her building compound when she met Haseena (23), a maidservant who had accompanied a toddler Maanya knew. On the pretext of tightening her earrings, Haseena managed to slip them off her ears.
Maanya's mother, filmmaker Shruti Verma, realised the earrings were missing two days later.
Sharp mind
"When I quizzed her about them, she was able to narrate a graphic account of what had happened." Describing Haseena in great detail and whom she usually hung around with, Maanya was able to help her mother zero in on the woman.
However, when Shruti confronted her at the playground on May 17, Haseena denied the charge. She then took Haseena to the Bangur Nagar police station.
The police traced the earrings to Haseena's home in Bhagat Singh Nagar, near Oshiwara.
Cops amazed
"It was surprising that a four-year-old confidently narrated the event. Many adults get tongue-tied when they arrive at a police station. In fact, we weren't sure if she was making it all up," said constableu00a0 Gita Gowde.
Shruti has since dropped the charges against Haseena, as she has a young child. But the maid has been fired from her job and barred from entering the society again.
Meanwhile, Maanya has become a hero among her friends. "She hasn't stopped narrating the story, and ends up adding her own filmi bits to it," laughed Shruti.
