Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, thanking him for his warm wishes on Maharashtra Day and praising his continued support for the state's development.
In his letter, CM Fadnavis said the Prime Minister's message reflected a deep appreciation for Maharashtra's culture, identity and legacy.
The letter highlighted Maharashtra's rich historical and social heritage, referring to icons such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule.
He said the state's tradition of sacrifice, reform and nation-building continues to inspire governance and development.
The Chief Minister, in his letter, linked the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj to modern governance, noting that schemes focused on housing, sanitation, farmers, women and youth reflect these principles.
He said initiatives such as Right to Service and Aaple Sarkar aim to ensure benefits reach the last person in society.
Fadnavis credited PM Modi for backing several key infrastructure projects in Maharashtra, including Atal Setu, the Coastal Road, Mumbai Metro lines and the Samruddhi Mahamarg.
He said many of these long-pending projects were fast-tracked after regular reviews under the Centre's PRAGATI initiative.
The letter also acknowledged the Centre's role in securing UNESCO recognition for forts linked to Shivaji Maharaj and the unveiling of a bust of Dr Ambedkar at UNESCO headquarters.
Fadnavis also thanked Modi for granting classical language status to Marathi.
Highlighting economic development, Fadnavis pointed to projects such as the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, Auric City and the upcoming Vadhavan Port, which is expected to become one of the world's top ports.
He also mentioned growth in regions like Nagpur, Nashik and Gadchiroli, with the latter emerging as a potential steel hub.
Fadnavis said the Centre extended timely support during droughts and helped complete irrigation projects.
He noted that schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, combined with state support, have strengthened financial assistance for farmers.
Concluding the letter, CM Fadnavis assured continued support to PM Modi's vision of a developed India, stating that Maharashtra will stand firmly with the Centre in achieving national goals.
