The North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has launched a new 'Raja Ratha' air-conditioned sleeper bus service between Belagavi and Thane, providing passengers with a comfortable overnight travel option between north Karnataka and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
The new premium service is expected to benefit business travellers, students, families and regular commuters travelling between the two cities.
The Raja Ratha service features fully air-conditioned sleeper berths along with modern passenger amenities designed to make long-distance travel more comfortable, an official statement said.
The overnight schedule allows passengers to travel during the night and reach their destination early the following morning.
The daily service will operate according to the following schedule:
- Belagavi to Thane: Departs at 8.15 pm and arrives at 6.30 am the following day.
- Thane to Belagavi: Departs at 8.00 pm and reaches 6.15 am the next day.
The launch of the new service is expected to strengthen road connectivity between north Karnataka and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region while offering passengers an additional premium travel option.
The route is likely to be particularly useful for people travelling for work, education, business and family visits.
