A minor fire broke out inside Chintamani Medical Store at Jain Mandir Building, Tembhi Naka, Thane West, on Friday morning. No injuries were reported in the incident.
According to the Thane Municipal Corporation's Disaster Management Cell, the alert was received at 6:56 am on Friday. The fire originated in a printer kept inside the medical store, located on the ground floor of the ground-plus-four-storey building.
The shop is owned by Nirmal Solanki and operated by tenant Piyush Mehta. Following the alert, personnel from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) and the Thane Fire Brigade reached the spot with one fire engine.

Earlier, a Level 1 fire broke out at a Bank of Baroda branch in Lohar Chawl's Mangaldas Market in south Mumbai, prompting a massive response from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) and other emergency agencies.
According to officials, the incident was reported at 10:52 pm, while the MFB declared it a Level 1 fire at 11:30 pm.
The blaze erupted in the approximately 2,000-square-foot first-floor premises of a ground-plus-one-storey building, where dense smoke had engulfed the area.
Senior fire officials, including the Divisional Fire Officer (DFO), Senior Station Officer (SrSO), and three Station Officers, rushed to the spot along with multiple firefighting vehicles, including one fire engine, one fire tender, two mini water tankers, four jumbo tankers, one aerial water tower tender, and one breathing apparatus van.
Personnel from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police, BEST, BMC ward staff, and the 108 ambulance service were also deployed to assist in the operation.
No injuries or casualties have been reported so far. Firefighting operations were underway at the time of the latest update, and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
In a separate incident last week, at least 11 people were injured after a fire broke out in the common electric meter cabin of a residential building in the Jogeshwari West area of Mumbai.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), the incident was reported at 5:59 am on July 3, 2026, at Gomati Vaishali Chawl on Haji Juhu Road, Vaishali Nagar, Jogeshwari West.
