The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across most districts of Maharashtra, including Thane, Palghar, Nashik, and Pune, on Tuesday. However, Mumbai has not been placed under any weather alert for the next five days, with the IMD forecasting moderate rain and thundershowers in the city.
According to the IMD's mid-day forecast and warning bulletin issued at 1.07 pm on Tuesday, the forecast is valid from 8.30 am on Tuesday to 8.30 am on Wednesday.
Mumbai has not been placed under any weather warning for the five-day forecast period.

The IMD has forecast widespread yellow alert conditions across Maharashtra on Tuesday, with thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds and heavy rainfall expected at isolated places in several districts.
Nashik is likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, while the district's ghat areas are expected to receive moderate rain.
In Pune, thunderstorms with lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are likely, while the ghat regions may receive heavy rainfall at isolated places.
Ratnagiri is expected to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds of 30-40 kmph and heavy rainfall at isolated places, while Sindhudurg is likely to receive heavy rainfall at isolated locations.
The districts of Dhule, Nandurbar and Jalgaon may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers, along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph.
Across Ahilyanagar, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Kolhapur and their ghat regions, the IMD has forecast light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over the ghats.
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur and Dharashiv, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds of 30-50 kmph are likely, with heavy rainfall expected at isolated places in several districts.
Across Vidarbha, including Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of up to 40-50 kmph are forecast. Heavy to very heavy rainfall, with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in several eastern districts, is also likely.
The IMD's warning maps indicate widespread yellow alert coverage across Maharashtra on Tuesday, while parts of Vidarbha have been placed under an orange alert owing to the likelihood of heavier rainfall.
The weather department has advised residents to remain updated through its official forecasts and bulletins and to exercise caution while travelling during periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
