The Maharashtra Legislature's upcoming winter session in Nagpur will be held for a week, with the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) on Wednesday finalising the schedule.
According to officials, the BAC, which met earlier in the day, decided that the session will take place from December 8 to December 14. The week-long session is expected to take up key legislative business, departmental reviews and discussions on pressing state issues.
The session will see both Houses - the Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) and the Legislative Council (Vidhan Parishad) - conducting sittings focused on critical financial business, legislative discussions, and a review of government performance amid a politically charged environment.
This year's session comes at a sensitive moment for the state, with a hectic electoral calendar, ongoing civic polls, and growing pressure from the opposition over farmer distress. As the winter capital gears up for the annual shift of administrative machinery, political activity in Nagpur is set to intensify significantly.
