Early findings indicate the accused may have been influenced by extremist ideas, with his online activity now under scrutiny. The case is being jointly investigated by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and central agencies to identify any wider links. Officials are also analysing his background, travel history, and digital footprint to understand the motive behind the attack.

The incident occurred near Asmita Grand Mansion, behind Wockhardt Hospital. Two security guards were on duty when the accused questioned one about his religion before attacking him with a sharp weapon. He then moved to the security cabin and assaulted the second guard. The accused, identified as Zaib Zubair Ansari, 31, was arrested within hours by the Naya Nagar police.
