In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old man has been arrested by the Vile Parle police for circulating his wife and daughter's phone numbers on Whatsapp saying they were prostitutes. The man is believed to have created a group of 19 members on Whatsapp and posting his wife and daughter's number on the group, with photos of the two, saying they were prostitutes, The Hindustan Times reported.

The accused is a businessman and his wife and children left him four years ago after they discovered that he was having an extramarital affair. As soon as the man posted his wife and daughter's pictures and contact details on the Whatsapp group, his daughter started to get obscene calls and messages where people told her that her father had told them that she was a sex worker.
The man's wife also received abusive and obscene text messages a few days before her daughter did and eventually she approached the police and registered a case against her husband. The man was later granted bail.
