Central Railway to operate night block at Diva for three consecutive nights on August 21, check details here

Central Railway, while sharing Mumbai local train updates, on Friday said that it will operate a special traffic and power block at Diva station on three consecutive nights to facilitate the construction of the Kalyan End Foot Over Bridge (FOB).

According to an official statement, the block will be carried out from 1.20 am to 3.20 am, for two hours, on the nights of August 21-22, August 22-23 and August 23-24, 2026.

The special block will be undertaken on the Up and Down slow lines between Kalva and Dombivli.

The work involves construction of the Kalyan End FOB at km 42/128-130 at Diva station. The traffic and power block has been planned to allow the required infrastructure work to be carried out safely.

Two suburban services to be diverted

During the block, two late-night suburban services will be diverted.

The train departing from CSMT at 12.08 am for Kasara and the train departing from CSMT at 12.12 am for Karjat will be diverted on the Down fast lines between Thane and Kalyan stations.

As a result, these services will not halt at Thakurli and Kopar stations during the affected period.

Passenger advisory

Passengers travelling on these services during the three nights have been advised to take note of the changes and plan their journeys accordingly.

Central Railway said such maintenance blocks are necessary for infrastructure development, upkeep and passenger safety.

The Railway Administration has appealed to passengers to bear with the temporary inconvenience caused by the special block.

CR takes charge of 14 Navi Mumbai stations from CIDCO

Meanwhile, the Central Railway has formally taken over the administration of 14 suburban railway stations in Navi Mumbai from CIDCO, effective Friday, August 14, marking a significant change in the management of the city's suburban rail infrastructure.

The stations handed over to CR include Vashi, Sanpada, Juinagar, Nerul, Seawoods-Darave-Karave, Belapur, Airoli, Rabale, Ghansoli, Kopar Khairane, Turbhe, Khandeshwar, Mansarovar and Kharghar.

With the takeover, all 14 stations will come under the direct administrative control of Central Railway. The move is expected to streamline station management and railway operations across the Navi Mumbai suburban network.

CR Chief Public Relations Officer Dr Swapnil Nila confirmed the development to mid-day.
