Central Railway to operate night blocks at Titwala from August 28 for 15 days, check complete details here

Central Railway will operate special traffic and power blocks at Titwala for 15 days from the midnight of August 28/29 to the midnight of September 11/12, 2026.

The blocks, lasting around five to six hours each night, are required to extend the platform at Titwala so that the station can accommodate 15-car suburban train rakes.

The first phase of the work will run from the night of August 28/29 to September 1/2, with the block scheduled between 11.30 pm and 5.10 am each night.

Kalyan-Vasind section to be affected

During the first phase, traffic and power blocks will be imposed on the Up and Down North East lines between Kalyan and Vasind, excluding crossover points.

The work will affect both long-distance and suburban train services. Central Railway has advised passengers to plan their journeys accordingly.

Mail and Express trains to face delays

Some long-distance trains will be regulated during the block.

The 11048 Gorakhpur-Dadar Express will be regulated at Vasind on the nights of August 28/29 and September 1/2, and at Atgaon on 30/31 August.

The 11044 Ballia-Dadar Express will be regulated at Atgaon on August 29/30 and at Vasind on August 31/September 1.

Several other Mail and Express trains are expected to reach their destinations 10 to 20 minutes late.

These include the 12102 Shalimar-LTT Jananeshwari Express, 18030 Shalimar-LTT Express, 12810 Howrah-CSMT Mail and 15181 Mau-LTT Express.

Other Mail, Express and holiday special trains running late may also be diverted or regulated depending on operational requirements.

Suburban services between Titwala-Kasara to be suspended

Suburban services will not be available between Titwala and Kasara during the night block.

On the night of 28/29 August, several CSMT-Titwala, CSMT-Kasara, Titwala-CSMT, Titwala-Thane and Asangaon-Thane services will be cancelled.

Some services will also be short-terminated. The CSMT-Asangaon local departing CSMT at 8.56 pm will terminate at Titwala, while the Dombivli-CSMT local at 10 pm and Kalyan-CSMT local at 10.06 pm will terminate at Thane.

Last and first locals

For passengers travelling on the night of 28/29 August, the last local for Kasara on the Down North East line will leave CSMT at 10.47 pm.

The last local for Titwala will leave CSMT at 11.16 pm.

On the Up North East line, the last local for CSMT will leave Kasara at 10 pm.

After the block, the first local for Kasara will leave CSMT at 4.19 am, while the first local for CSMT will leave Kasara at 3.51 am and Titwala at 4.32 am.

Changes from Aug 29 to Sept 1

Further changes will apply during the blocks from the night of August 29/30 to September 1/2.

Several Down and Up suburban services will be cancelled, including selected CSMT-Titwala, CSMT-Kasara, Titwala-CSMT, Titwala-Thane and Asangaon-Thane services.

Some Kalyan-CSMT and Dombivli-CSMT services will also be short-terminated at Thane.

During this period, the last local for Kasara will leave CSMT at 10.47 pm, while the last Kasara-CSMT local before the block will leave Kasara at 10 pm.

The first local for Kasara after the block will leave CSMT at 4.19 am. The first local towards CSMT will leave Kasara at 3.51 am and Titwala at 3.56 am.

Titwala services to be extended to Asangaon

From the night of August 29/30 to September 1/2, all Titwala-bound suburban services will be extended to Asangaon.

Services that normally originate from Titwala will instead originate from Asangaon.

There will also be changes to the originating and terminating points of selected AC and non-AC suburban services.

Some CSMT-Titwala services will run only up to Thane or Kalyan, while selected Titwala-CSMT services will originate from Thane or Kalyan.

Further details to be announced

Central Railway said details of the blocks after September 1 will be announced separately.

The railway administration said the work is necessary for infrastructure improvement and passenger safety.
