Mumbai local train alert: Several services cancelled, curtailed amid Central Railway blocks at Titwala

The Central Railway will operate special traffic and power blocks at Titwala in Thane district for three consecutive nights from Friday, September 4, to Monday, September 7, as part of work to extend the platform to accommodate 15-car rakes. Several Mumbai locals as well as Mail and Express train services will be disrupted during the block period.

The blocks are part of a 15-day programme being undertaken from midnight of August 28-29 to midnight of September 11-12, with blocks of five to six hours every midnight.

For the current phase, the block will be operated from midnight to 5 am on the nights of September 4-5, September 5-6 and September 6-7 on the UP and DOWN North East lines.

Mumbai local trains: Services affected

Suburban services will not be available between Titwala and Kasara during the block period. All Titwala-bound suburban services will be extended to Asangaon, while services originating from Titwala will originate from Asangaon until midnight of September 11-12.

The CSMT-Titwala locals departing CSMT at 11.16 pm and 11.42 pm will be short-terminated at Thane.

The Titwala-CSMT locals scheduled to depart Titwala at 3.56 am and 4.32 am will instead short-originate from Thane at 4.44 am and 5.19 am, respectively.

Last and first locals during the block

On the nights of September 4-5, September 5-6, and September 6-7, the last local before the block for Kasara on the DOWN North East line will depart CSMT at 9.32 pm.

The last local for Titwala on the DOWN North East line will depart CSMT at 9.20 pm.

On the UP North East line, the last local for CSMT will depart Kasara at 10 pm, while the last local for Thane will depart Asangaon at 11.08 pm.

After the block, the first local for Kasara on the DOWN North East line will depart CSMT at 4.19 am.

The first local for CSMT on the UP North East line will depart Kasara at 4.59 am and Titwala at 5.11 am.

More suburban services affected

The CSMT-Titwala AC local departing CSMT at 6.30 am and the Dadar-Titwala AC service departing Dadar at 3.33 pm will run only up to Thane.

The following CSMT-Titwala services will run only up to Kalyan:

Mail and Express trains to be rescheduled

Several Mail and Express trains will also be rescheduled during the block period.

The 12141 LTT-Patliputra Express, with journey commencing on September 4, 5, and 6, will be rescheduled to depart LTT at 4.15 am.

The 11057 CSMT-Amritsar Express, with journey commencing on September 4, 5, and 6, will be rescheduled to depart CSMT at 4 am.

The 22177 CSMT-Banaras Mahanagri Express, with journey commencing on September 5, 6, and 7, will be rescheduled to depart CSMT at 4.15 am.

The 22538 LTT-Gorakhpur Kushinagar Express, with journey commencing on September 5, 6, and 7, will be rescheduled to depart LTT at 4.45 am.

The 12879 LTT-Bhubaneswar Express, with journey commencing on September 5, will be rescheduled to depart LTT at 4.30 am.

The 12811 LTT-Hatia Express, with journey commencing on September 6 and 7, will be rescheduled to depart LTT at 4.30 am.

Mail and Express trains to be regulated

Several trains will be regulated at different locations on the Mumbai Division.

At Vasind, between 2 am and 5 am:

11048 Gorakhpur-Dadar Express on September 5 and 7
11044 Ballia-Dadar Express on September 6

At Atgaon, between 2.30 am and 4.55 am:

12102 Shalimar-LTT Janeshwari Express on September 5
15181 Mau-LTT Express on September 7

At Khardi, between 2.35 am and 4.55 am:

18030 Shalimar-LTT Express on September 5, 6 and 7

At Kasara, between 2.20 am and 5 am:

12810 Howrah-CSMT Mail on September 5, 6 and 7

At Igatpuri, between 2 am and 4.55 am:

20104 Gorakhpur-LTT Express on September 5, 6 and 7

The Central Railway said late-running trains and special trains, if announced at a later date, will also be regulated or rescheduled as per operational requirements.

The railway administration said the blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety and requested passengers to bear with it for the inconvenience caused.
