The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, forecasting heavy rainfall at isolated places over the next couple of days as the monsoon remains active over Konkan. The weather bureau has issued an orange alert for Raigad, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places on Wednesday.
The yellow alert will remain in place for Mumbai on Thursday as well, the latest district-wise forecast and warning issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre at 12.30 pm on Wednesday stated.
The intensity is likely to reduce on Friday, with the city expected to receive moderate rainfall, followed by light to moderate rain on Saturday and Sunday.
For Wednesday, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall at isolated places over Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and the ghat sections of Nashik, Satara and Kolhapur.
An orange alert has been issued for the ghat areas of Pune for heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places.
Moderate rain is expected over several other districts, including parts of north Maharashtra such as Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, and Nashik. Light to moderate or light rain is forecast over most parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and other areas.
No significant warning has been issued for most districts of Vidarbha.

For fishermen, squally weather conditions may prevail along parts of the Maharashtra coast.

Mumbai's seven lakes, which supply drinking water to the city, collectively held 12,95,274 million litres of water, or 89.49 per cent of their total live storage capacity, as of 6 am on Wednesday, according to the Hydraulic Engineer's Department at the Bhandup Master Control Centre.
