The Maharashtra government on Monday has issued a clarification regarding reports of difficulties faced by candidates while filling the online Common Entrance Test (CET) application.
Concerns had emerged about mismatches in personal details such as name, date of birth or other identification particulars.
In an official statement, the state has stated that these issues will not affect a candidate's ability to submit their application, and no applications are being rejected on this basis.
It clarified that creating an APAAR ID is a simple and optional process. Candidates can generate an APAAR ID without needing to enter details from their 10th or 12th standard mark sheets.
The absence of academic details will not prevent candidates from creating an APAAR ID or submitting their CET application, it said.
The official statement stated that no CET application will be disqualified or rejected because of mismatched personal details. Candidates are still eligible to apply even if there are discrepancies in their name, date of birth, or other demographic information.
The online CET system allows candidates to manually enter personal details such as name and date of birth, as per valid supporting documents like Aadhaar card or HSC certificate. This ensures that candidates can proceed even if the system's auto-filled details do not match their records.
The application form includes three separate name fields to accommodate variations in personal records -
- Name as per Aadhaar (auto-fetched by the system)
- Name as per Aadhaar (manual entry)
- Name as per HSC certificate
Even if these entries do not match, candidates will still be able to fill and submit their forms without any technical restriction.
Department reiterated that minor discrepancies in personal details will not prevent submission of the CET application. Any mismatches can be resolved at later stages as per prescribed procedures.
Candidates are advised not to panic or rely on misleading information and to fill the form carefully using valid supporting documents. For technical assistance, candidates may contact the official helpdesk on the CET portal, the statement said.
