A 46-year-old passenger died after he suffered a seizure and became unresponsive while travelling on a bus in South Mumbai on Saturday evening, according to an incident report.
The passenger, identified as Mrutyunjay Dandpani Nayak, was travelling on bus route A-77/33 from Breach Candy Hospital to Byculla Station.
Around 7.45 pm, when the bus reached TATA Garden near Mukesh Chowk, Nayak suddenly suffered a seizure and became unresponsive.
The bus conductor immediately checked on the passenger but found that he was not responding. In view of the medical emergency, the bus was diverted to Nair Hospital for further treatment.
Nayak was examined at the hospital by Dr Nabila Loladia, who declared him dead at around 8.30 pm. The incident report stated that medical treatment could not be administered before he was declared dead.
