The investigation into the Tiger Shroff firing case has revealed striking similarities with the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, with police sources describing the alleged plot as a "carbon copy" of the 2024 killing. The parallels include advance reconnaissance, the involvement of three shooters, logistical support, and arrangements for escape. Both incidents also occurred around Dussehra, although the festival timing alone does not establish a connection between the two cases.

In the Siddique murder case, police examined how the shooters monitored his movements and familiarised themselves with the area before the attack. Siddique was shot outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office in Bandra East on October 12, 2024. The investigation also examined the roles of conspirators who coordinated the operation, and helped the shooters prepare for the attack.

In the Tiger Shroff case, the accused conducted a recce of Pushpa Narsee Park in Juhu, where the actor regularly played football. They visited the ground on October 11, but left when Shroff did not turn up. They returned on October 18, the day of the shooting. Police reportedly found that photographs and videos of Shroff playing football had been shared with an alleged handler before the attack.
In both cases, police examined advance surveillance of the target and the use of information about the target's movements to plan the attack, with investigations extending beyond the people present at the crime scene to examine a wider network suspected of facilitating the attacks.

Three shooters Gurmail Singh, Dharmaraj Kashyap, and Shivkumar Gautam were identified in the investigation into Siddique's murder. The probe also examined the roles of conspirators who coordinated the operation and arranged support for the shooters. The Shroff firing also involved three shooters, with two men opening fire at the actor's vehicle while a third waited on a motorcycle. Police have also been examining the roles of alleged handlers and other accused who helped organise the operation.
In the Siddique murder investigation, police examined an alleged network that helped the shooters with accommodation, transport, money, and other logistical arrangements. The probe sought to establish how the conspirators coordinated with the shooters and facilitated the operation. In the Shroff case too, investigators have been examining the support network behind the attack. According to police, several accused played roles in procuring and transporting firearms, arranging accommodation, and providing other logistical support. Police have also been tracing communications between the shooters and their alleged handlers to establish who coordinated the attack.
In the 2024 Siddique murder case, the shooters travelled to the crime scene in an autorickshaw on the day of the murder after an earlier incident involving their motorcycle. In the Shroff case, the attackers fled on a motorcycle after opening fire at the actor's vehicle at the Juhu playground. Police subsequently traced the suspects using CCTV footage and other leads. The probe also examined the arrangements made to help the accused leave Mumbai.
Siddique was shot dead on October 12, 2024, on Dussehra. The firing at Shroff took place on October 18, 2026, a day before Dussehra.
