The Mumbai Water Tanker Association on Tuesday evening called off its strike following successful negotiations with the Maharashtra government.

The association's representatives held a series of meetings with state government officials during the day.

"Yes, our meeting was successful. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed the district collectors to withdraw all notices issued under the Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) without any punitive action. Following this assurance, we have decided to withdraw the strike," Ankur Sharma, spokesperson for the Mumbai Water Tanker Association, told Mid-day.
